What It’s About: New Beginnings – a thought-provoking video series designed to explore life’s biggest questions through the Bible. Discover clarity, hope, and practical answers to everyday challenges.

Type of Group: Seminars to grow happier, healthier relationships. Open to everyone.
Description: Know Yourself! Understand Others! This series kicks off with a free seminar and meal (watch for the flyer!). There will be presentations, simple tests to increase your knowledge of yourself, small group discussions, lots of laughter, and lots of “oh, that’s why I/he/she does ….”
Meeting: in person. The first seminar is October 5 at 2:30 pm at PAA. Free childcare will be provided for the first seminar. A meal follows this seminar. Subsequent seminars will be Oct. 18, Nov. 1, 15, 29, Dec. 13, at 2:30pm in the basement at College Heights SDA Church. You can choose which seminars to attend. Please start with October 5.

Type of Group: open to everyone who wants to go deeper with God and others.
Description: Deep Calling is an opportunity to experience God in a new way, to learn about yourself, grow as a child of God, and to build community with others. We begin and end the series with a full day retreat 8:30am-3:30pm. In between we meet weekly to journey together with Jesus. Purchase a journal (a notebook from a Dollar store! and have weekly handouts to follow or a course workbook for $26 from Honey). Bring your journal and bible to all meetings. The day retreats are very important so please be prepared to be present for the whole day.
Meeting: in person, Wednesdays 7:00 – 9:00 pm, at 27 Liberty Close. Opening retreat at the Hideout at Burman U.
Start Date: September 13, 8:30am-3:30pm for the first retreat, then Wednesday’s starting September 17, 2025, at 7:00 pm. Closing retreat November 22, 2025.

Type of Group: Open to everyone who has experienced loss and grief or walks with someone who has experienced loss.
Description: “Journeying with Loss” is a seminar to help you navigate the pain of loss, especially as we approach Christmas, to help you remember with more love than pain. This group will meet for four Thursday evenings in November.
Meeting: in person. Location TBD. 7:00pm-8:15pm

Description: Join us every Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM for a time of connection, prayer, and encouragement. We gather outdoors around a fire, sharing life together and lifting our families, concerns, and praises to our Heavenly Father.
Bring a lawn chair if you’d like and come just as you are. While the group is mostly men, everyone is welcome—this is a space for anyone seeking community and a faith-filled evening of support and fellowship.
Meeting: We meet in the backyard at 40 Maple Bay, Lacombe. Feel free to reach out to Mark if you have any questions. And yes – we usually have light snacks featuring rhubarb baking …. While supplies last! We’d love to see you there.

Type of Group: Celebrate Recovery Open Share Group (Men & Women separately, starts 8 PM)
Description: Celebrate Recovery open share groups (following large group meeting that starts at 7 PM) provide an opportunity to share confidentially in gender specific groups. All groups are led by leaders who have been on their own recovery journey. It is a safe space to share your hurts, hang-ups and habits. There is no pressure to share on your first night. What’s shared in the group, stays in the group.
Meeting: in-person on Tuesday evenings from (7-8 PM for large group meeting, then 8-9 PM open share small groups) in the Earliteen room.

Type of Group: Open to anyone living with loss and grief. Bereavement Support Group – open to 9 adults. The book used is “The Grief Recovery Handbook: 20th Anniversary Expanded Edition,” by John W. James and Russell Friedman. It can be purchased at Chapters or Amazon. Just be careful with Amazon that you get the most current edition. This is “The Action Program for Moving Beyond Death, Divorce, and Other Losses including Health, Career, and Faith.”
Description: In this action program for moving beyond death, divorce, and other losses including health, career, and faith, this group will focus on how we learned to grieve through the hurts and losses we experienced while growing up, and how we apply those same grieving patterns in life today. Then we will learn tools for working through grief and forgiveness in a healthy way.

Description: Wallow in the word of the Lord. Take it into your heart and mind. Memorize a portion of scripture each month or just come to hear the word of the Lord spoken.
Meeting: Second Saturday of the month at 4pm to share the word followed by a light potluck supper. Meet at 27 Liberty Close.
